Mayor Abu Bakarr Kamara the newly elected Mayor of Makeni City Council Abu Bakarr Kamara (Lamtales) thanks, and appreciate the people of Makeni City for entrusting the mantle of leadership for the period 2024-2030. As entrenched into the Local Council Act of 2008, local councils are mandatory to produce their Development Plan which will serve as the Development Blueprint for the councils spanning throughout my tenure of office. Within 6 months into office the Makeni City Council’s Development Plan was produced by my able and competent development planning committee, with technical direction from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and critical inputs from stakeholders, Youths, Children, People With Disabilities (PWDs), Devolved sector heads, etc. the Municipal Development plan will identify and prioritized the felt needs of the people of municipality and even beyond. This development plan is aligned with the strategic goals, priorities, and interventions of the MTNDP 2024–2030 and, by extension, the SDGs, as well as the AU Agenda. 2063.
Despite attaining office at the end of 2023, laudable achievement was recorded between 2023 to 2024 towards own source revenue performance.
